The fragrant smell of guava and cream that wafts as soon as you open the box was important in the creation of this cake, as the smell conjures memories of childhood summers for Monique who spent playing in her grandmother's home where guava trees grew. The guava jam recipe used in this cake was handed down by Monique's grandmother to her mom, who inspired her to create this cake, and thus was named after her.
